Fashion Show Rules, Terms, and Conditions

ENTRY DEADLINE

The designer submission deadline is April 15th 2025 at 11:59 pm EST (the Entry Deadline), or until all available time-slots are filled. All entries must be received by the Entry Deadline.

WHO MAY ENTER

All Cat Women as well as Tom Cats (intact or neutered) are all invited to apply to participate as “models.” Entrants must be at least 18 years of age by April 26th, 2025  (Date of Show), or have written permission from a parent or guardian if under 18 (and be accompanied by parent or guardian).

HOW TO ENTER

To enter electronically, please visit http://CatLadyFashionShow.com to register. Once the registration process has been completed, you will receive an email confirmation. Registering is FREE.

No mail-in entry is available for this Contest. 

Each submitted application must be creative, inventive, whimsical, and created by, but not necessarily manufactured by the Contest entrant. By entering the Contest, entrant represents, acknowledges and warrants that she/he has full power and authority to enter the work, and that the work does not infringe any copyright or violate any other intellectual property rights. Entry does not guarantee contest participation. Contestants will be selected based on Freshwater Events, LLC discretion. All Applicants will be notified and announced by March 26, 2025.

COMPETITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Contestants are required to create a mood board* (see below) complete with the inspiration of your costume design.
  • Contestants are required to provide their own introduction including but not limited to:
    • Models name (pseudonym) eg: Cindy Clawford, Cat Benatar, Catsy Cline:
    • Name of the Fashion House you are representing (may be fictional).
    • Any other humorous / delicious details are welcome and appreciated. This is often referred to as a “mood board.”. We want our attendees to laugh and laugh and laugh.
  • Contestants must submit 180 seconds of music, in MP3 format, of their choice which will be played during their segment of the fashion show by April 15, 2024. If you do NOT have a music selection please contact M’Lynn ([email protected]) to help you select music for your time on the runway..
  • Contestants are required to be self-contained, and provide your own outfits, hair, and makeup. We will have one small dressing room with two mirrors for you to do a final hair and makeup check. You may bring one support person to help you prior to your preparation.
  • Models may bribe the judges using money, gifts, tickets, and other valuable considerations, if done in a playful and humorous way. Your bribe, however, may or may not influence the final decision of the judges. Remember, this is a fun and entertaining fundraiser for TC Paw Cat Rescue.
  • Models may simulate the seduction of judges and/or audience members with some common sense in a comical manner. Models may NOT touch the judges or any member of the audience at any time.
  • Models may NOT be sexually explicit or display nipples or genitalia.

COMPETITION PRIZES/AWARD

All models shall receive a professional digital photograph commemorating your participation, via email within 10-days following the pageant.  

The Winner(s) will receive cash and/or prizes, with an approximate combined retail value of TBD. Actual/appraised value may differ at time of prize award. The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by Freshwater Events, LLC and TC Paw Cat Rescue. No cash or other prize substitution shall be permitted except at TC Paw Cat Rescue discretion. Any and all prize-related expenses, including without limitation any and all federal, state, and/or local taxes, shall be the sole responsibility of Winner. No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others or request for the cash equivalent by Winner is permitted. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission for Freshwater Events, LLC and TC Paw Cat Rescue to use Winner’s name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, or permissions, unless prohibited by law.

JUDGING

  • You will be wearing an original Feline, Cat Lady, or Tom Cat inspired design. The panel of Judges will each review your mood board*
  • You will follow the instructions of the Cat Lady Fashion Show runway coordinator
  • You will have a three minute duration on the runway to model your fashion creation and personality.
  • Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, quality of designs, originality of design, styling, the audience response, as well as your presentation, presence, and purrsonality while on the runway.
  • Decisions: Freshwater Events, LLC, TC Paw Cat Rescue, and Judges are final and binding.

* Mood Board: A mood board is a visual tool that helps you communicate your design concepts and ideas. It’s a collection of elements arranged to evoke a particular style or feeling.

ENTRANT LICENSES/RELEASES

If the work contains any material or elements that are not owned by the entrant and/or which are subject to the rights of third parties, and/or if any persons appear in the work, the entrant is responsible for obtaining, prior to submission of the work, any and all releases and consents necessary to present the runway and use of the collection in the manner set forth in these Official Rules without additional compensation. If any person appearing in any work is under the age of majority in their state/province/territory of residence the signature of a parent or legal guardian is required on each release. 

By participating, ALL ENTRANTS grant Freshwater Events, LLC (the event producer), and/or TC Paw Cat Rescue, and their designees, licensees or affiliates (the “Authorized Parties”) a nonexclusive, worldwide license, indefinitely, to reproduce, distribute, display and post the entries online so that viewers may view all competing entries. In addition, the FINALISTS grants to the Authorized Parties a license for use of his/her winning entry in connection with the Contest and promotion of the Contest, in any media now or hereafter known, including but not limited to, print or digital publication showcasing the winners, and promotions related to the contest for an unlimited time. Authorized Parties will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such use.

CONDITIONS

This Contest is subject to federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Certain restrictions may apply. Entries void if Freshwater Events, LLC (the administrator) determines the entry to not be an original, or if the entries are illegible, incomplete, damaged, irregular, altered, counterfeit, produced in error or obtained through fraud or theft.

Participants also agree (a) to be bound by these Official Rules; (b) that the decisions of the Judges are final on all matters relating to the Contest; and (c) if he/she wins that Freshwater Events, LLC and/or TC Paw, Inc may use each winner’s name, work, likeness, and/or voice in any publicity or advertising relating to the Contest or future promotions without compensation or approval. All federal, state and local taxes, fees and surcharges on prizes are the sole responsibility of the prize winner. In the event that the selected winner of the prize is ineligible or refuses the prize, the prize will be forfeited and Freshwater Events, LLC, in their sole discretion, may choose whether to award the prize to another entrant.

RIGHT TO CANCEL OR SUSPEND CONTEST 

If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, due to infection by computer virus, bugs, worms, trojan horses, denial of service attacks, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, that corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, Freshwater Events, LLC reserves the right, at their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual(s) who tamper with the entry process, and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest.

Freshwater Events, Inc. and/or TC Paw Cat Rescue, shall not be liable for failure to appear or perform its obligations under this agreement in the event that such failure is caused by or due to the acts or regulations of public authorities, labor difficulties, civil tumult, inclement weather, strike, epidemic, interruption or delay of transportation service, or any other legitimate cause beyond our control.. 

This agreement constitutes the entire understanding of the parties hereto and shall be interpreted pursuant to the laws of the County of Grand Traverse, in the State of Michigan.
